Verb – Participles as Adjectives
Fyll i rätt participform av verbet inom parentes.
- In Swedish, participles (verb forms like "stängd", "trött", "inbokad") can be used as adjectives to describe nouns or subjects.
- Present participles (ending in -ande/-ende) describe ongoing states, e.g. "ett leende barn" (a smiling child).
- Past participles agree with the noun they describe in gender and number, e.g. "ett bokat möte" / "en bokad tid".
- Participles used as predicates follow the same agreement rules: "Dörren är stängd" but "Rummet är stängt".
- Pay attention to the noun's gender (en/ett) and number (singular/plural) when choosing the correct form.
